Strengthen Communities

Leadership Wisconsin (formerly called WRLP-Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program) has a commitment to selecting diversity within each group of participants that includes geographical, professional, gender, ethnicity and other diversities, which greatly enrich the growth and development of the group as a whole. With such a large investment made in each group participant, we are determined to maximize this two-year experience for each and every person.

Every two years, up to 35 participants are selected for each group based on specific criteria. (Read more) Selection Criteria

How does the application process work?

  1. Submit a written application to the Leadership Wisconsin office by the deadline date. We accept applications every two years. Our next deadline date for Group 14 is November 1, 2009. If you would like to be put on our mailing list for information to be sent periodically up until the deadline date, please complete the form available here.

    The application for Group 14 is now available, see below. The application requires sufficient time to fill out properly--allow ample time to do this. A completed application includes:
    • A clearly printed or typed application
    • Three letters of reference submitted directly from the letter writer to the Leadership Wisconsin office.
    • Spouse/Partner Statement of Support
    • Employer/Business Partner Statement of Support
  2. The pool of applicants are screened and potential candidates are invited for an interview. These are conducted in varous locations around the state in January/February 2010.
  3. Final selection is completed and final candidates notified in February/March 2010 with a first orientation session to be held soon after.
