does not represent an end, but rather the beginning of a lifetime
of new experiences. Leadership Wisconsin is committed to providing
our state with motivated decision-makers that are well-informed and
able to shape the future of Wisconsin. Leadership Wisconsin is a
proven method of leadership development that produces top-notch community
leaders for cities, towns, villages, rural regions, counties, and
Wisconsin enhancing the quality of life ... in public, private, and
nonprofit endeavors... for today and tomorrow.
Their leadership efforts
have led to such endeavors as building a medical clinic in a community
without healthcare facilities; being elected to local, county, and
state offices; helping children with physical and mental disabilities;
creating economic opportunities in communities; and developing curriculum
for schools
.
- 69% hold or have held elected positions for school boards, town
and county boards as well as the state legislature.
- 87% serve as board members
for area hospitals, community and/or civic organizations.

or industries.
The program's impact is felt in a variety of ways and on many
levels. Leadership Wisconsin is accompanying a police officer on his late
night shift, sitting down with government officials at open-policy discussions,
and joining in an editorial news conference. It is coming face-to-face with
the challenges we live every day. It is using the Leadership Wisconsin experience
to lead others to highly innovative and successful solutions.
"By cultivating new leaders, preparing them to deal with a wide range of emerging social, economic, and environmental issues, improves the overall quality of life across the state. These leaders are better prepared to identify and leverage all of the resources of their home towns to cultivate new partnerships and embrace new ideas. That's
exactly what Wisconsin needs today, in a time of rapid change and economic
uncertainty."
