Who is this for?

Developing Leaders to
Strengthen Communities |
Leadership Wisconsin (formerly called WRLP-Wisconsin Rural Leadership
Program) is designed for Wisconsin residents with widely diverse
backgrounds and experiences - rural, urban, and suburban. They all
share a strong desire to actively participate in meeting the challenges
facing their communities. Applicants are old enough to have demonstrated
their leadership abilities but young enough to still be able to make
significant future leadership contributions upon completion of the
LW experience.
Past participants have included individuals in business, education,
social service, religion, nonprofits and government, just to name
a few - people who want to improve and increase their leadership
capacity. The Leadership Wisconsin experience is not a starting point,
rather an opportunity for individuals who have already exhibited
leadership capacity and are ready for the next level of intensive
leadership development.
Up to 35 participants (fellows) are selected
for each two-year session. This is determined through an application
and interview process. All applicants must be Wisconsin residents.
Upon completion of the program, fellows are awarded 48 Continuing
Education Units through the Community, Natural Resource, and Economic
Development Program Area, University of Wisconsin-Extension.
