Group X (2002 - 2004)
Leadership and Community Seminar, September 10-13, 2002
The Leadership and Community Seminar was held at Treehaven in Tomahawk
September 10-13, 2002, led by co-chairs, Bill Rizzo, Community Resource
Development Educator, Dane County Extension and Dan Hill, Community
Resource Development Educator, LaFayette County Extension.
The theme of the seminar was Developing a Personal Leadership Philosophy.
This seminar was aimed at helping participants develop a personal,
holistic leadership philosophy. The working philosophy was based
on personal reflection and leadership theory and concepts. The assumption
underlying the seminar theme is that individuals who deepen their
understanding of self and the leadership context will be better prepared
to assume appropriate leadership roles that serve their local communities
well. Participants explored and reflected upon: knowledge of self;
personal values; personal leadership vision; the ethics of leadership;
the external leadership context; and how, through their leadership,
participants can impact others and their communities.
