ABOUT DISCUSSIONS (ROUNDTABLE AND AUTHOR)

Roundtable Discussions

Presenters have the opportunity to informally discuss a relevant topic in a small group setting for 45 minutes. After brief introductions and key points, presenters will encourage participation and guide discussion among participants. Several discussions will take place concurrently.

Author Discussions

Presenters have the opportunity to informally discuss their published book in a small group setting for 45 minutes. After brief introductions, presenters will discuss the key content of their book, encourage discussion, and answer questions from participants. Several discussions will take place concurrently.

Suggested level of experience

Presenters of this format should have several years of work experience in the field and have given several related presentations.

Room set-up and equipment provided

Several discussions will be held in the same room set up in round tables with 10+ chairs for participants. These are "unplugged' discussions. Audiovisual equipment and electrical outlets are not provided.

Acceptance requirements

If your Discussion proposal is selected for presentation and you accept, you (and any co-presenter, if applicable) are committing to attend the conference. Presenters must register by June 6, 2012 (Discussion presenters receive only one conference registration discount of $125; any co-presenter must pay the full registration fee).

Accepted Discussion presenters are required to submit a one-page summary paper by May 4, 2012 (OR the option to submit a 3-5 page proceedings paper by that date). All accepted papers will be published in the 2012 Conference Proceedings and Resources and added to the Resource Library on the conference website.

Accepted Roundtable Discussion presenters must submit participant handouts by July 16, 2012 to be included in the Resource Library on the conference website.
