We are glad to have you participate in this year's conference, and we will make every effort to assist you in making your presentation a success.
Roundtable, Point/Counterpoint, and Author Discussion date:

Discussion format:
During these 45-minute discussions, the presenter and the participants interact to share their ideas and perspectives on a topic (Roundtable), on a published book (Author), or on a debate topic (Point/Counterpoint). The presenter:
- Introduces the topic, book, or debate
- Encourages participation
- Guides the interchange of ideas
- Flows with participants' needs
Submit handout:
We request that each Discussion presenter provides a summary handout to attendees at the conference. We also request an e-copy to include in our Web Resource Library.
- Download the Discussion handout guide.
- Create handout.
- Upload your handout to Conference Drop Box (http://www.uwex.edu/disted/conference/proceedings) by July 15; log in using the username and password sent to you by email.
- Bring 20 copies of the handout to the conference.
Registration:
- One presenter per discussion will receive a discount of $125 off the standard registration fee.
- Only one conference discount may be applied.
- All presenters must register for the conference by June 1 and actively participate in the discussion. Failure to register may result in cancellation of your session.
- Online registration starts in May; we will send a reminder to you with a link and instructions for registering.
Standard room set-up:
- Several round tables with 10 chairs each will be set up in the same room with signage.
- No audiovisual equipment or tech support; this is a "no tech" or "unplugged" discussion
OPTIONAL: Submit summary paper for 2009 Conference Proceedings and Web Resource Library by May 15.
If you wish to submit a 3-5 page session summary paper for your Discussion, please follow these steps:
- Download proceedings guidelines and permission form. Review formatting guidelines to help prepare your proceedings document (view sample from prior year).
- Make sure session title and authors of paper match the title and presenters of session.
- Upload your paper to the Conference Drop Box (http://www.uwex.edu/disted/conference/proceedings); log in using the user name and password sent to you by email. A link to a log-in reminder form is also available at the URL listed above.
- Print and fill out the permission form, and fax completed form to 608-265-7848 by May 15.
