Deadline for Submission
Proposals must be submitted online by 4:00 pm (CST) January 20, 2010. You may submit more than one proposal.

Presenter Benefits
- Publication: Accepted proceedings and summary papers will be published in the 2010 Conference Proceedings and available via the conference Web site Resource Library. Papers due May 4, 2010.

- Registration fee discounts: Accepted presenters receive a discounted registration fee (see grid below). All presenters must be registered by June 4, 2010 and are eligible to receive only one discount if selected to present more than one proposal.
Review Process
Each proposal is reviewed by at least three members of the Conference Planning Committee. Web sites may be used to provide supporting information only, not as a substitute for proposal submission.

Conference Objectives
Teach
- Discuss critical success factors and innovative practices in distance education and training.
- Examine the key components of effective applications: needs analysis, course design, teaching methods, active learning, learner support, management, policy, and evaluation.
- Share successful approaches, strategies, and techniques.
- Identify active teaching/learning methods for effective engagement, motivation, and performance outcomes.
- Discuss major issues, new developments, and trends.
Learn
- Reflect on progress made in distance education.
- Consider future possibilities for distance education.
- Increase knowledge about teaching/training at a distance.
Connect
- Facilitate networking among distance educators, practitioners and administrators.
- Share program resources via technology (e.g., print, audio, video, multimedia, and the Internet).
Proposal Status
The primary contact person will receive notification by early April and is responsible for forwarding any conference correspondence to co-presenters.
Acceptance Requirements
- If your proposal is selected for presentation and you accept, you are committing to attend the conference.
- If your proposal is accepted for presentation

--Symposia arerequiredto submita 5-7 pagewhite paper by September 4, 2010.
--Discussions, Demos, Lightning Sessions, and Workshops are required to submit a 1-page summary paper by May 4, 2010.
All accepted proceedings and summary papers will be published in the 2010 Conference Proceedings and on the Conference Web
site. The Symposia white paper(s) will be published on the Conference Web site.
- If your proposal is accepted for presentation, participant resources (handouts, slides, etc.) may be submitted by June 4, 2010 to be included with the Proceedings and in the Resource Library on the conference Web site.
Conference Registration
All presenters listed in accepted proposals must register for the conference by June 4, 2010. Presenter discounts vary; see the Quick Reference Guide for details. If you are accepted to present more than one proposal, you are only eligible for one presenter discount.
Equipment
Presenters MUST provide their own computers. The conference will provide audiovisual equipment for workshops, information sessions, e-Poster sessions, demonstrations, symposia, and lightning sessions. Audiovisual equipment is not provided for any discussions as these are considered "unplugged" events.
