Deadline for Online Submission
- Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 4:00 pm (CST)
Suggested level of experience
- Research e-Poster and Lightning Sessions: These formats do not require prior presentation experience and are open to graduate students and professionals new to the field.
- Author Discussions, Course and Training Tours, Information Sessions, Roundtable Discussions, and Speed Solutions: Presenters of these formats should have several years of work experience in the field and have given several related presentations.
- Workshops: Presenters of this format should have an expert level of work experience in the field and have given multiple related presentations.
Review Process
- Each proposal will be reviewed/refereed by three professionals in the field.

Proposal Status
- Notification on the status of your proposal will be sent in April.
Acceptance Requirements
- If your proposal is selected for presentation and you accept, you (and your co-presenter, if applicable) are committing to attend the conference. Presenters must register by June 6, 2012 or forfeit their presentation slot.
- Presenters for accepted proposals must submit papers by May 4, 2012.
All papers will be published in the 2012 Conference Proceedings & Resources and added to the Resource Library on the conference website.
- Information and Research e-Poster Sessions:requiredto submit a3-5 pageproceedings paper.
- All other formats: required to submit a one-page summary paper (OR the option to submit a 3-5 page proceedings paper).
- Presenters for accepted proposals must submit participant resources (handouts, slides, etc.) electronically by July 16, 2012 to be added to the Resource Library on the conference website.

- Examine the key components of effective applications: needs analysis, course design, teaching methods, active learning, learner support, management, policy, and evaluation.
- Share successful approaches, strategies, and techniques.
- Identify active teaching/learning methods for effective engagement, motivation, and performance outcomes.
- Discuss major issues, new developments, and trends.

- Reflect on progress made in distance education.
- Consider future possibilities for distance education.
- Increase knowledge about teaching/training at a distance.
