0350 Online Facilitation Techniques
Format: Online self-paced course (requires Flash Player plug-in)
CEUs: 1.0 CEUThis elective is an online course that is designed for self-paced learning on an individual basis. The course has 11 lessons that introduce a variety of practical strategies for managing online discussions and communicating with students. Each lesson includes an overview, objectives, content, practice activities and/or self-check quiz, and summary.
Each lesson was developed as a Sharable Content Object (SCO), or learning object, that meets SCORM and ADA standards for reuse and access. The SCOs were developed using Flash software for Web animations/interactions, but the design is intended to be simple enough to be used in other contexts. Thus, in addition to the content on facilitation techniques, you will gain insights into the use of learning objects that contain various types of learner-to-content interactions.
The course is housed in the Learn@UW/D2L management system that we use for online courses. You will need to register for this course with your advisor.
