Enrollment options and costs: Distance Education Certificate Program

To accommodate different learning preferences and needs, the Distance Education Certificate Program has two approaches for participation in the required core courses. You may enroll as either a Self-Paced Individual Project Learner (SPT) or an online Collaborative Group Activity Learner (CLT). The approaches have the same certificate requirements - only the format of the four core modules differs.  Self-Paced courses may be taken at anytime.  Collaborative Group courses are offered on a scheduled basis.  You are welcome to change your preference for Self-paced or Collaborative group core courses anytime during your studies (simply contact your advisor to make the change).

We offer the following options for certificate or non-certificate enrollment fees:

Plan A-Core Modules and Standard Electives Package*

CEUs: 20
Fee: $2950

With Plan A, you receive all the courses needed to complete the 20 CEU Certificate Program. Plan A includes the orientation module, four core modules, your choice of 7 CEUs in standard electives, and the capstone report. Plan A is the recommended option, as it provides a plan of study that meets certificate requirements at the lowest cost. You save $625 or more compared to Plan D.

Plan D-Individual Courses*

You enroll in the Certificate Program on a course-by-course basis. The first step in Plan D is to enroll in 0099 Orientation Planning. After completing 0099, you select your next course. You pay the individual course fee for each selection. You may choose among any of the core modules and standard electives. To earn a Certificate, you will need to complete all program requirements. This plan provides a great deal of flexibility, but you pay more due to higher administrative costs and fees may increase during your time in the program. It is possible to switch from Plan D to Plan A if you do so soon after completing the 0099 Orientation module or the first regular course. The Plan D course fees are listed in the Curriculum.

Noncertificate Enrollment-Individual Courses

You may enroll in any of the core modules, audio seminars, or Internet seminars on a noncertificate basis. Completion of project or report requirements is optional unless you wish to earn CEU credits. The individual course fees are listed in the Curriculum.
