THE ALEXANDER N. CHARTERS LIBRARY OF RESOURCES FOR EDUCATORS OF ADULTS - Scholars of continuing higher education and students doing research in the field should take note of The Charters Library at Syracuse University, the single largest English-language compilation in the world on the subject of adult education. The collection is named for former UCEA president Alexander N. Charters, who was instrumental in amassing much of the material, and who currently sponsors the processing of new acquisitions, along with the library's circulating CHE collection. Covering the development of adult education since the turn of the century, The Charters Library includes materials documenting the history of UCEA and other organizations influential in the field, as well as the private papers of many of the pioneers of adult learning. To find out more about The Charters Library, or to access the collection, contact Terry Keenan, Special Collections Librarian, at: 315-443-2697, or mailto: txkeenan@library.syr.edu.
