UPFRONT - One of DE's Major Questions

This issue concludes the four-part series of Samual Dunn's "16 Predictions for Higher Education." Dunn's second prediction in part-one of the series, projected that "University degrees and programs at all levels will be available by information technologies..." This is more of a certainty than a prediction and is increasingly happening in the University of Wisconsin System and numerous other educational institutions across the country and world. In this very different environment, one of the major questions we need to ask is - how can we retain students throughout a course or training session, and ensure that they are receiving what they need? Martha Mealy, Director of Instructional Design at Learning Innovations offers some insight in her FOCUS article on Designing for Retention in Online Learning. (Rosemary Lehman)
