UPFRONT - Background on This Month's FOCUS Article

The previous study provides a guide for faculty and administration to plan distance education based on interpretive research. In addition, it contributes to the more effective and efficient use of instructional technologies through presenting in narrative form what does and does not work. It helps teachers to prepare for the experience of distance teaching by presenting actual narrative experiences that are common to use as guides. Absent from the previous study were the voices of students, technology specialists, and the breadth of experience of the other campuses in the University of Wisconsin System. The new study is currently in progress. Participants are actively being recruited. Please consider volunteering (see end of FOCUS article.) The following is a common experience or theme that has emerged from the the hermeneutical analysis of the interview data. (FOCUS article authors)
