ASL SIGNS IN THE PALM OF YOUR HAND - Level One of American Sign
Language (ASL) signs can now be practiced "in the palm of your hand." Through a grant
from UW System and the collaborative efforts of Instructional Communications Systems,
UW-Extension; UW-Milwaukee; UW-Stevens Point and the ADL Co-Lab, 351 video
sequences of Level One ASL signs have been imported into a Compaq iPAQ. The video
signs, which are also archived on the Web, and are stored on CD, were recently
demonstrated at the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) Annual
Conference in Toronto, Canada. R & D is now in progress to make them accessible
through the ADL Co-Lab Repository. (See reference to this project in this month's
FOCUS article.)
