BREAKING NEW GROUND: FACULTY PRESPECTIVES

This new videotape presents the experiences of five faculty members from the University of Wisconsin System teaching a wide spectrum of courses and curricula via two-way, interactive videoconferencing. An additional print package includes complete interviews with the featured faculty members.

The instructors discuss the videoconferencing medium, distance education rooms, course design, training, development of visuals, instructional skills, personalizing and preparing students for the medium, support services, feedback, evaluation, and their next steps.

You will learn how each of these teachers effectively used two-way videoconferencing to deliver credit courses, programs, colloquia, and to lead discussion sessions.

"It (videoconferencing) can bring what you don't have to your campus. Students ask about it. It's going to open doors, extend faculty...that's a benefit."
Joanne Wilson, Associate Dean, Engineering, Math & Science, University of Wisconsin-Platteville
