The Diversity Connections Project:
Using Technology to Close the Distance Between Students
ABSTRACT

The Diversity Connections Project uses synchronous and asynchronous technology to create learning communities that cross ethnic, racial, geographic, and experiential boundaries to facilitate student learning. Students at the predominantly Caucasian UW-Stout campus learn with students at a traditionally African American institution (Xavier University in New Orleans) and a predominantly Hispanic institution (Cerritos College in Los Angeles).
