TOPjobs - Student Information

The TOPjobs Program (formerly SAAIP) is a summer affirmative action internship program designed to recruit racial/ethnic minorities, female students, and students with disabilities for positions that provide valuable training, experience, and exposure to jobs in University of Wisconsin and state government.


Types of Jobs

TOPjobs positions are identified by the University of Wisconsin, University of Wisconsin-Extension (including county offices), and state agencies according to their specific needs. Following are examples of occupational areas: Computer Science, Law, Accounting, Health Care, Human Resources, Social Services, Business Administration, Radio & Television, Criminal Justice, Agriculture, Community Development, Library Science, Journalism, Marketing, and Outreach & Education.

Eligibility

You are eligible to participate in TOPjobs if you are either:

  1. A Wisconsin Resident(attending school full-time in Wisconsin or Out-of-state)
    • A Non Resident who is a full time student in the State of Wisconsin. AND
    • A Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student enrolled full-time at a four year College/University in the fall of the next year OR will be a Second Year Technical Student at a Technical College in the fall of the next year.

Employment referrals will be made by April 30. Applications received after referrals have been made may be considered, but will likely result in fewer referrals for employment. Your referral to a specific position will be based on your qualifications and the requirements of the position. Salary will depend on the level of duties and responsibilities assigned.
