There are important changes to your benefits for 2011 that may require you to take action during the Benefit Enrollment and Change Period which begins October 3, 2011. This is the only time during the year you are eligible to add or change benefit coverage unless you have a life event (marriage, birth, divorce…). All benefit enrollments and changes made during this period will be effective January 1, 2012. Be sure to read the coverage changes for benefits you currently hold. Visit the UW Service Center website for information on insurance changes and enrollment opportunities: http://uwservice.wisc.edu/2012/. A paper application will be required for all open enrollment benefit options except the Employee Reimbursement Account (ERA). Starting between April and June 2011, the University of Wisconsin will begin to implement a new human resource, payroll, and benefits system that will streamline hiring processes, increase employee data security, simplify benefits enrollment, modernize the payroll process, and increase customer service.
