This page contains detailed descriptions of the slides in the slide show on the index page of this site. The slide show contains 10 slides.
- Slide1 shows an outside view of the Pyle Center in located on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison Wisconsin. The Pyle Center is a 3-story structure and is home to Instructional Communications Systems.
- Slide 2 shows three people in a computer room. One of the people is in a motorized wheel chair. The three people have different computers turned on and are looking at different screens on the computers. They appear to be having a discussion about the different things they are seeing.
- Slide 3 shows a man explaining the controls of a desktop control touch panel to a woman. The woman is seated at an instructor’s desk. The man is standing behind the panel so the woman can see the controls while he points them out.
- Slide 4 shows a group of 5 people at a table. They have a laptop computer on the table and one of the people is holding an open book and pointing to something inside. It appears as though the people are comparing something in the book to something on the laptop.
- Slide 5 shows the logo for the book, The Essential Videoconferencing Guide: 7 Keys to Success, a publication that is produced by ICS.
- Slide 6 shows a woman sitting on a sofa with textbooks spread around her. She is also talking on the telephone and writing something in a notebook. The woman is taking part in a class delivered via audioconferencing.
- Slide 7 shows a woman in an office wearing a headset and sitting in front of a computer. The computer is logged in to the WisLine Web Webconferencing site. The woman is attending a WisLine Web Webconferencing session.
- Slide 8 shows a group of people in a conference room. They are all looking at a large monitor on one end of the room that is showing a woman’s face. Above the monitor, on a shelf, is a small videoconferencing unit. The people in the conference room are having a videoconference with the woman shown on the monitor.
- Slide 9 shows a picture taken from the back of a large tiered classroom. There are several students facing the front of the room. At the front of the room there is a woman who is the instructor for the class. She is standing to the side of the instructor’s console, which contains a document camera, desktop computer and touch panel controls. To her other side, there are two large projection screens. One of the screens is showing a presentation slide. The other slide is showing a room with 2 students who are attending the class at a different location via videoconferencing.
- Slide 10 shows a hand holding a small handheld device. The screen of the device is showing a woman doing the American Sign Language sign for “don’t know” along with the text for the sign.
