| Q86 - What are the access controls offered with the WisLine Web service? |
WisLine Web offers a range of Meeting Access Controls to address "general public" meetings, as well as highly secure, "private" sessions. WisLine Web users have a choice of four authentication mechanisms to control access to their meetings. Meeting organizers can select the appropriate access control mechanism best suited for their particular event. Access for audience members and presenters can be individually and separately controlled. The access control options are as follows: 1. Open Meeting (Public Sessions) Anyone can attend. No Meeting Key or Password is required for audience members. This mechanism is ideal for public events where anyone is welcome to attend. Essentially, anyone with the URL and Meeting ID can attend without requiring additional authentication. 2. Meeting Key Presenters and audience members are required to enter a Meeting ID (user defined) and a Meeting Key (6-digit randomly generated numeric code or a meeting leader defined key) to enter the meeting. This is the default for any WisLine Web meeting. Similar to passcodes used for audio conferences, audience members and presenters use these special keys to establish their level of permission for the meeting. For convenience, Meeting Keys can be replaced at any time with a new key of the meeting leader's choice (up to 32 characters). 3. Access Control Lists All attendees at the meeting (both presenters and audience members) are required to provide unique User IDs and Passwords. This is the most secure form of security since organizers specify who is permitted to attend explicitly by name. |
