Welcome to the American Sign Language Knowledge Repository. The repository is part of a University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and University of Wisconsin-Extension American Sign Language (ASL) Learning Objects Project.

In this repository you will find video-based ASL learning objects, in individual words and phrases, performed by a native ASL speaker.

Learning objects are small units of educational material that can be used in a variety of educational settings and delivery formats. These ASL video-based learning objects have been created in a variety of delivery formats. They are currently being tested for effectiveness of use on CD-ROMs in ASL classes. Their use is also being tested on handheld computers and in this knowledge repository.

We recommend that these ASL video-based learning objects should be used as an instructional aid as a component part of an ASL program or course.

Signing 'You'You will need Realplayer 8 or higher to play these files. Click on the sample on the right to view one of the video files. If it does not work you will need to update/install Realplayer. Click here for more information on how to get Realplayer.
