Wisconsin Rates for Multipoint and Gateway Videoconference Services*

Multipoint Service:

Our multipoint service can connect to sites using H.320 (ISDN) and H.323 (IP) videoconference equipment. Charges are based on number of sites in a videoconference and the speed at which it is held. If only two sites are involved, one site can call the other directly, and no bridging charge is incurred. If three or more sites are involved, a bridge is needed to connect them.

Calls to ISDN sites may incur a long distance toll charge. There are no toll charges for Internet (IP) sites.

Gateway Service:

Our gateway service enables codecs using different technologies to interconnect to each other in a point-to-point connection. Charges are similar to multipoint bridging fees (see next section) based on connecting two sites together. For example, Codec A uses ISDN lines while Codec B uses the Internet. We can connect to both and translate the signals between them. Note, if your event has more than two sites, gateway fees do not apply, but multipoint fees do.

Bridging Charges for Multipoint Conferences**

$10.00/hour /site, for all UW departments and State of Wisconsin, K-12, Federal, and local governments.
$40/hour/site, for private agency or state or local governmental unit outside of Wisconsin.

ISDN calls may have additional costs because calls are placed from the UW-Madison campus, and therefore, the UW-Madison line charges apply to ISDN connected sites. These charges apply to all ISDN sites outside Madison. Calls to sites in Madison are local to the bridge, and therefore, line charges do not apply.

Line charges from the Madison campus are higher, because the campus ISDN provider adds a 15% surcharge to all calls. This is true for all Madison campus sites.

International Calls

Please call for ISDN rates for international calls; they vary from country to country. Sites that are on Internet2 can ususally be connected without incurring any line charges.

DVDs

$15.00 per disc, for video recording on DVD.

Streaming

Your videoconference can be streamed over the Internet. It can be streamed live, viewable on a computer as the event takes place. It can also be captured for replay on a computer later from our streaming server with links from your web site, or we can provide a file to be hosted on your server. (Note: We can capture in the RealMedia or Windows Media formats.)

Charges are as follows:

$30.00 per hour of content for streaming and/or capturing your videoconference

Site Support

The University of Wisconsin sites have a 3-tiered price structure for site support. This charge covers scheduling , set-up of the conference, and trouble shooting should problems occur. If you need or desire a camera operator in the room during the entire conference, there will be an additional charge depending on the individual site. Although most of the University of Wisconsin sites adhere to this policy, each site can vary from it. Please call ICS for exact charges.

University of Wisconsin site charges are as follows:

$15.00 per hour per site, for any University of Wisconsin Department
$30.00 per hour per site, for State of Wisconsin, K-12, or federal or local governmental agencies
$150.00 per hour per site, for non-profits and others

Wisconsin state office building sites are only for the use of UW and State of Wisconsin agencies and departments. They do not charge site support. The DNR/UWEX site at Rhinelander is a UW site, and therefore, does charge applicable site support, unless the users are from the DNR.
