Hi. I’m Rich Berg, Instructional Design and Distance Education Specialist at Instructional Communications Systems. Thanks for joining me today to learn about WisLine Web, the webconferencing service operated by ICS.

Webconferencing combines the simplicity of an audioconference with the power of visually interactive web-based materials. Webconferencing allows you to effectively and easily communicate and collaborate in real-time over the Internet.

With WisLine Web you can conduct live courses and programs using your Web browser and telephone. To participate, you simply dial in to the phone conference, and point your browser to the assigned URL.

Presenting with WisLine Web is easy. Everyone logged in to the virtual meeting space shares the visual content, and they interact with each other by voice or through the interactive tools. Participants can connect from offices, homes, meeting rooms or anywhere else with a 56K Internet connection and a phone line.

With Webconferencing you can:

  • Visually supplement an audio conference call
  • Hold meetings
  • Announce new services
  • Deliver a course or training
  • Hold a news conference or online seminar
  • Brainstorm new ideas, and much more.

WisLine Web is economical, enabling you to spend your time working with your students, clients, or colleagues, instead of traveling.

  • Using some of the interactive tools you can:
  • Annotate your PowerPoint slides
  • Use a whiteboard to draw diagrams
  • Take audience polls
  • Share any application running on your desktop
  • Or give software demonstrations and web site tours

Presenters control participant interaction, including the ability to ask text questions, to text chat among themselves, and use a seating chart to respond to questions, in addition to audio discussion. In more collaborative meetings, participants can be granted the ability to create new content by using the slide creation tools, or control of the presenter’s document to make changes.

ICS has a free web-based registration service to help you monitor your conference attendance, making your attendee information accessible to you, via the web, whenever you need it.

The ICS staff is always available to assist you with training for presenters, technical assistance, and answers to your questions.

Visit our web site at uwex.edu/ics/wlweb to learn more about WisLine Web and our services. Call our reservations coordinator, Carol Hillmann, at 608-262-7590 to schedule your conference or training.

Thanks for participating today. We hope to help you connect with ICS soon!
