Research, analyze and deliver formal findings on the administrative integration specific to the area of centralized information technology services for the UW Colleges and UW-Extension. Document and report on the journey of this integration effort and its outcomes.
The final report would include a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) or Cost-Benefit Analysis of pre and post integration areas covering but not limited to: staffing, services, security, best practices, investment, infrastructure, procedures, policies, and organizational structure. The formal document should include an executive summary, assumptions, projections, timeline for savings, efficiencies, and challenges.

The University of Wisconsin-Extension is looking for an experienced HTML programmer to create several Dreamweaver templates and multiple HTML pages as part of a Web site redesign project.
The programmer will be supervised by the Project Manager and will work with members of the Web team as needed. The position is housed in Central IT (780 Regent Street) and work will take place on a flexible schedule during regular business hours (weekdays, 8:30am-5pm). A minimum of 10 hours per week is required.
Work will begin in late December or early January and will be completed by late April or early May.
The programmer will use a master Dreamweaver template and CSS file to produce HTML pages in quick succession. Accurate coding as well as knowledge of best practices in HTML/CSS is desired. He/she will validate HTML code and test in multiple browsers.

This position will report to the IS Network Services Specialist for assignments and works under general supervision performing varied duties in desk top service, and hardware, network and telecommunications support.
60%-Troubleshoot, problem solve, train, and provide personal computer customer service, escalate problems to specialist when necessary; provide customer assistance in mainframe, microcomputer, operating system and/or office suite application software including word processing, spreadsheet, database, electronic mail, scheduling, telecommunications, and Internet support, escalate problems to supervisor when necessary; provide new user network set-up, orientation for software applications, directory and login instruction, password change, email, and printing support; assist with implementing and maintaining software updates including operating system upgrades and patches; maintain firmware updates in all hardware devices.
30%-Provide information systems technical support of the division's hardware and network environment server, and personal computer hardware and peripheral equipment for issues ranging from routine to moderately complex.
10%-Provide telecommunications support.

This is an objective level position working under general supervision within the UW-Extension, Conference Centers group. This position will work under the direction of Registration Services Project Manager and will be assigned projects related to web-based application development and enhancements.
This position performs a combination of analysis and coding duties of great complexity. This position develops specifications and participates in analyzing requests from customers for design and system alternatives; develops, codes, documents, tests, and maintains web-based applications software. This senior level position requires mastery of the techniques and tools used for analysis, design and program development in the assigned area.
Initially, this position will work with third party consultant and project manager to learn program architecture, assist in report development and data migration tasks. Expectation is such that his would move into implementation, training phase and eventually a support desk role for upgrades.
