Western district

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Monroe County, the Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development (CNRED) Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings from leadership and organizational development, community development, local government education, and business and economic development to meet identified educational needs and interests of citizens, community-based organizations, businesses and local governments. The CNRED Agent strengthens communities and local government through educational programming that builds understanding and leads to improved decision-making and leadership skills.

More specifically, the CNRED Agent provides educational assistance to Monroe County’s economic development and tourism organizations and committees on matters pertaining to community economic development. The position provides educational support to the tri-county leadership program and facilitates leadership development in new, emerging, and experienced youth and adult leaders in the county, whether in professional or volunteer roles. The CNRED Agent works with communities to raise cultural awareness and provides educational leadership to local units of government related to current and emerging issues.
