Central district

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Juneau County, the Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings from community and land use planning, as well as, business and economic development to meet identified educational needs and interests of citizens, community-based organizations, businesses and local governments. The Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development Agent strengthens communities and local government through educational programming that builds understanding and leads to improved decision-making and leadership skills.

This position has two areas of emphasis, Business and Economic Development, and Government and Community and Development. Work in the area of Business and Economic Development will include coordinating and delivering educational programs and resources directed at improving small business management and entrepreneurship opportunities as well as advising and providing educational leadership to a variety of economic development programs and organizations such as the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), Juneau County Agricultural, Industrial, and Recreation Society, Inc. (JCAIRS), and Juneau County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC), and Greater Mauston Area Development Corporation (GMADC). Work in the area of Government and Community Development will include assisting local groups, organizations, and governments to improve decision making and effectiveness through a variety of organizational development processes, tools, and resources including serving as an educational resource and advisor to the Juneau County Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) and providing information and education related to a variety of governmental issues and topics such as recycling, municipal service provision, grant writing, community growth management/land use planning, community aesthetics, and elected officials’ roles responsibilities.
