As a faculty member of University of Wisconsin-Extension, the 4-H STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Specialist is responsible for leading a statewide initiative to increase Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development’s capacity to meet youth development educational needs related to STEM. Backed by University research, the Specialist incorporates pertinent findings from the social, human and behavioral sciences and the science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines as a basis for educational programs to support the positive development of youth. The Specialist works closely with county Extension faculty and staff and 4-H volunteers in planning, implementing and evaluating local and state educational programs to increase STEM-related competence in Wisconsin youth. - 4-H YOUTH DEVELOPMENT EDUCATOR (100%) - OUTAGAMIE COUNTY

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Outagamie County, the 4-H Youth Development Educator is a leader in accessing and applying research findings in the social, human and behavioral sciences. The Educator organizes community resources in support of the positive development of youth, especially in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and citizenship skills. Current 4-H Youth Development programming in Outagamie County has a focus on volunteer development, outreach to urban youth and youth leadership development.
4-H Youth Development programming in Wisconsin has a dual focus - providing educational programs for youth, and youth development leadership for communities. The 4-H community club is Extension's fundamental model for youth programming that is offered in counties throughout Wisconsin. Other models of direct programming provide program access to audiences unaware of or unable to access 4-H community clubs. In addition to these direct programs, 4-H Youth Development personnel play a significant role as community leaders in youth development.
- AGRICULTURE AGENT (100%) - JEFFERSON COUNTY

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Jefferson County, the Agriculture Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings from dairy and animal sciences, agronomy/plant sciences, agricultural economics, home horticulture and natural resources to meet identified educational needs and interests of county individuals, organizations and communities. The Agriculture Agent works to integrate concerns and issues identified at the county, state and national levels relative to agriculture profitability and environmental quality, and to build the capacity of adults, youth, families, organizations, and communities.
From past University of Wisconsin – Extension work and experiences, visioning session summary results, stakeholder input and general knowledge about Jefferson County agriculture, horticulture and natural resources, it is anticipated that the major focus of this position will be in areas of dairy, animal and crop production; economics and marketing; farm and agricultural business management; agricultural economic development; agricultural leadership development; home horticulture, and natural resources. Subject matter expertise sharing and collaboration with Waukesha County is encouraged.

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Douglas County, the Agriculture Educator is a leader in accessing and applying research findings from consumer and commercial horticulture, agronomy/plant sciences, dairy and animal sciences, agricultural economics, and natural resources to meet identified educational needs and interests of county individuals, families, businesses, organizations and communities. The Educator works to integrate concerns and issues identified at the county, state, and national levels relative to agricultural profitability and environmental quality and to build the capacity of adults, youth, families, organizations and communities
From past University of Wisconsin – Extension work and experiences and general knowledge about Douglas County agriculture, horticulture and natural resources it is anticipated that the major focus of this position will be in areas of consumer horticulture; commercial horticulture; general agriculture including dairy, animal and crop production, economics and marketing; farm and agricultural business management; agricultural economic development; and natural resources. The Agriculture Educator is expected to provide overall coordination, training and support to the Master Gardeners Association.
- COMMUNITY, NATURAL RESOURCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENT (100%) - JUNEAU COUNTY

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Juneau County, the Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings from community and land use planning, as well as, business and economic development to meet identified educational needs and interests of citizens, community-based organizations, businesses and local governments. The Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development Agent strengthens communities and local government through educational programming that builds understanding and leads to improved decision-making and leadership skills.
This position has two areas of emphasis, Business and Economic Development, and Government and Community and Development. Work in the area of Business and Economic Development will include coordinating and delivering educational programs and resources directed at improving small business management and entrepreneurship opportunities as well as advising and providing educational leadership to a variety of economic development programs and organizations such as the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), Juneau County Agricultural, Industrial, and Recreation Society, Inc. (JCAIRS), and Juneau County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC), and Greater Mauston Area Development Corporation (GMADC). Work in the area of Government and Community Development will include assisting local groups, organizations, and governments to improve decision making and effectiveness through a variety of organizational development processes, tools, and resources including serving as an educational resource and advisor to the Juneau County Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) and providing information and education related to a variety of governmental issues and topics such as recycling, municipal service provision, grant writing, community growth management/land use planning, community aesthetics, and elected officials’ roles responsibilities.
- COMMUNITY, NATURAL RESOURCE, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENT (100%) - MONROE COUNTY

As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Monroe County, the Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development (CNRED) Agent is a leader in accessing and applying research findings from leadership and organizational development, community development, local government education, and business and economic development to meet identified educational needs and interests of citizens, community-based organizations, businesses and local governments. The CNRED Agent strengthens communities and local government through educational programming that builds understanding and leads to improved decision-making and leadership skills.
More specifically, the CNRED Agent provides educational assistance to Monroe County’s economic development and tourism organizations and committees on matters pertaining to community economic development. The position provides educational support to the tri-county leadership program and facilitates leadership development in new, emerging, and experienced youth and adult leaders in the county, whether in professional or volunteer roles. The CNRED Agent works with communities to raise cultural awareness and provides educational leadership to local units of government related to current and emerging issues.
- Geologist With Emphasis In Sedimentary Process (100%) - WGNHS

This position will focus on sedimentary processes. The Geologist conducts fundamental and applied research in areas relating to clastic sedimentary processes through field-based investigations including but not limited to geologic mapping, clastic sedimentology, and issues relating to the stratigraphic and hydrostratigraphic framework of the Quaternary and/or Paleozoic sediments and rocks of Wisconsin. The Geologist works in cooperation with other WGNHS staff and University personnel, and collaborates with local, state, and federal agencies that have interests in geology, geophysics, hydrogeology, and mineral resources.
As a faculty member within the Department of Environmental Sciences, the Geologist must meet institutional expectations of scholarship, show evidence of professional development and growth, make contributions to the profession, and participate in faculty governance. The candidate will take a leadership role in the outreach and educational functions of WGNHS and UW-Extension.
