As a faculty member of University of Wisconsin-Extension, the 4-H STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Specialist is responsible for leading a statewide initiative to increase Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development’s capacity to meet youth development educational needs related to STEM. Backed by University research, the Specialist incorporates pertinent findings from the social, human and behavioral sciences and the science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines as a basis for educational programs to support the positive development of youth. The Specialist works closely with county Extension faculty and staff and 4-H volunteers in planning, implementing and evaluating local and state educational programs to increase STEM-related competence in Wisconsin youth. As a faculty member of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, employed with Outagamie County, the 4-H Youth Development Educator is a leader in accessing and applying research findings in the social, human and behavioral sciences. The Educator organizes community resources in support of the positive development of youth, especially in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and citizenship skills. Current 4-H Youth Development programming in Outagamie County has a focus on volunteer development, outreach to urban youth and youth leadership development.
4-H Youth Development programming in Wisconsin has a dual focus - providing educational programs for youth, and youth development leadership for communities. The 4-H community club is Extension's fundamental model for youth programming that is offered in counties throughout Wisconsin. Other models of direct programming provide program access to audiences unaware of or unable to access 4-H community clubs. In addition to these direct programs, 4-H Youth Development personnel play a significant role as community leaders in youth development.

The Community, Natural Resource and Economic Development Agent strengthens communities and local government through educational programming that builds understanding and leads to improved decision-making and leadership skills.
This position has two areas of emphasis, Business and Economic Development, and Government and Community and Development. Work in the area of Business and Economic Development will include coordinating and delivering educational programs and resources directed at improving small business management and entrepreneurship opportunities as well as advising and providing educational leadership to a variety of economic development programs and organizations such as the Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), Juneau County Agricultural, Industrial, and Recreation Society, Inc. (JCAIRS), and Juneau County Economic Development Corporation (JCEDC), and Greater Mauston Area Development Corporation (GMADC). Work in the area of Government and Community Development will include assisting local groups, organizations, and governments to improve decision making and effectiveness through a variety of organizational development processes, tools, and resources including serving as an educational resource and advisor to the Juneau County Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) and providing information and education related to a variety of governmental issues and topics such as recycling, municipal service provision, grant writing, community growth management/land use planning, community aesthetics, and elected officials’ roles responsibilities.

More specifically, the CNRED Agent provides educational assistance to Monroe County’s economic development and tourism organizations and committees on matters pertaining to community economic development. The Organization
Wisconsin Public Radio is the second largest public radio network in the country with two state-wide services, 29 stations, an HD service and broadcasting via the web. WPR has a long history of innovation and programming excellence and currently produces a number of nationally distributed programs and is home to the oldest radio station in the country. WPR is headquartered on the University of Wisconsin campus in Madison and has six regional bureaus located around the state.
The Opportunity
Wisconsin Public Radio seeks three goal-oriented individuals in the key position of Corporate Development Representative to secure financial support for both statewide and nationally-produced programs heard on WPR. This is an opportunity to use your sales and relationship-building background to solicit underwriting for Wisconsin Public Radio programming while contributing to the strategic growth of the Corporate Development Department.
Responsibilities
Corporate Development Representatives are responsible for meeting quarterly and annual revenue goals for Wisconsin Public Radio (WPR) programming and other related activities. Identifying and securing new corporate funding as well as enhancing revenue from current clients are key responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include representing WPR to the local business community by attending trade fairs and speaking to service organizations. Two positions will be located in the Milwaukee Bureau and one position will be located in the Green Bay Bureau with responsibility for the entire Fox Valley.
Qualifications
The appropriate candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and up to two years full time professional work experience in client service, sales or a marketing intensive environment (a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 or more years of successful experience for intermediate level). S/he must have excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills along with demonstrated ability to make sales or request financial support while maintaining professional resilience. The ability to analyze and interpret data to develop presentations is a necessary job skill. Demonstrated understanding of broadcasting and media as well as familiarity with Wisconsin-based businesses is very desirable. A personal means of transportation is required.
Compensation
The minimum salary for this position is $35,358 ($40,526 at intermediate level) with actual pay proportional to experience. UW-Extension offers a comprehensive fringe benefits package.

The University of Wisconsin-Extension is looking for an experienced HTML programmer to create several Dreamweaver templates and multiple HTML pages as part of a Web site redesign project.
The programmer will be supervised by the Project Manager and will work with members of the Web team as needed. The position is housed in Central IT (780 Regent Street) and work will take place on a flexible schedule during regular business hours (weekdays, 8:30am-5pm). A minimum of 10 hours per week is required.
