Sounds like a bad idea, but it doesn't necessarily spell trouble, especially if it's part of a storm drain stenciling project. Volunteers in more than 100 Wisconsin communities have participated in programs to stencil "Dump no Waste, Drains to Lake (or Stream)" on more than 6,000 storm drain inlets.

The employees at the John Deere plant in Mannheim, Germany, and those at the one in Horicon, Wisconsin are thousands of miles apart geographically. However, they're not so far apart in terms of their experiences in the workplace. With this in mind, the University of Wisconsin-Extension School for Workers (SFW) brought employees at the two facilities and labor union representatives together in a first-of-its kind interactive video conference March 22.

The Learning Institute for Nonprofit Organizations was recognized by the American Distance Education Consortium (ADEC) at its annual conference on March 6 as one of two Outstanding Educational Programs. This national award recognizes an institutional team or inter-institutional collaboration for innovation and excellence in the development and delivery of credit or non-credit programs. Selection was based on the documentation of excellence, learner feedback and outcomes.
