Members of 4-H who love to sing, make art, act, write and create with computers have until Feb. 15 to send in applications to be part of a 4-H arts team.
Teams are forming for arts, drama, press, Showcase Singers and technology. These teams will attend the Wisconsin 4-H and Youth Conference in June and will work together throughout the year on a variety of activities, events and projects.
The Drama Team needs actors, technicians, seminar coordinators, and assistants to the director. This team's state contact is Greg Matysik, 608-262-1912, matysik@facstaff.wisc.edu.
Members of the Art Team will work with a professional artist to design a large public art piece and plan the 4-H and youth conference art exhibit. The state contact for the Art Team is Susan Farmer, 608-263-7815, sfarmer@dcs.wisc.edu.
Showcase Singers is a show chorus that performs at the state fair, the state 4-H youth conference and other venues throughout the year. Singers/dancers, instrumentalists, choreographers and adult chaperones are invited to apply. Matysik coordinates this team.
The Press Team's mission for 2001 is to develop PowerPoint presentations for delegates to the annual 4-H youth conference. Wayne Brabender, 608-262-1067, wayne.brabender@ces.uwex.edu , works with this team.
The Technology Team maintains a youth-friendly Wisconsin 4-H Web site and provides educational technology opportunities for young people. Kathi Voss, 608-262-2496, kathi.vos@ces.uwex.edu , is the state contact for this team.
