University of Wisconsin - Extension

On Monday, May 21, as part of Wisconsin Public Television's (WPT) summer children's schedule, Plaza Sesamo, the PBS Spanish-language series for preschoolers, will begin airing at 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Plaza Sesamo series continues with its overarching goal of diversity. These joyous half-hour programs include films of traditional parades, crafts, rondas and children and families. Joining the three main, beloved muppets Abelardo, Pancho and Lola, are two other muppets that portray dozens of ancillary characters as well as Pancho's pet Elefancio. The curriculum is filled with literacy and segments that model good nutrition and hygiene.

WPT is a service of the Wisconsin Educational Communications Board and the University of Wisconsin-Extension.
