Recent statistics indicate that identity theft is a growing crime nationwide that leaves up to 40,000 or more consumers each year fighting to clear their names and correct their credit reports after thieves steal their identities and establish fraudulent credit accounts in their names.

MADISON, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Extension announced today that Dean and Director of Cooperative Extension Carl O¿Connor has accepted a new assignment as the executive director of the North Central Extension Association. He will begin his new assignment July 1, 2003.

UW¿Extension Chancellor Kevin Reilly and Vice Chancellor Marv Van Kekerix have been named recipients of the 2002 Mary Nell Greenwood Extension Evaluation Award for administrative or program leadership in Extension evaluation. The award is presented by the American Evaluation Association¿s Extension Education interest group.
