The Cultural Coalition of Wisconsin today announced the first in its series of live, moderated Web chats with people who play a significant role in Wisconsin culture, arts, history and humanities. Ellen Kort, the state poet laureate, will answer questions and offer thoughts during a chat from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 28 at http://www.portalwisconsin.org .

Many Wisconsin residents can get thousands of dollars back at tax time by taking advantage of valuable state and federal tax credits, according to Judi Bartfeld, University of Wisconsin-Extension specialist and a professor in UW-Madison¿s School of Human Ecology. These credits include the federal Earned Income Credit, the Wisconsin Earned Income Credit, the Wisconsin Homestead Credit and the federal Child Tax Credit.

Gambling is becoming more and more prevalent in our society. With the opening of more casinos, the expansion of state lotteries, the increased betting on sports and a wide variety of gambling opportunities available on the Internet, it is not surprising to see an increase in the number of teenage gamblers.
