Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) helps kids jump full force into summer with a schedule of educational and entertaining staples, as well as returning favorites.

"During the summer months," said Garry Denny, WPT's associate director of programming, "we have the flexibility to air often-requested children's programming that we simply can't accommodate during the school year."

Throughout the academic year, WPT airs programs for in-classroom use between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

"This summer, children and their parents can enjoy the entertaining and educational messages on Sesame Street, which is in our schedule year-round, but also the socializing messages on Caillou, the math tips on Cyberchase and the history lessons of Liberty's Kids, which all are returning favorites," he said. "Summer is an important time for us since we can provide a slowed-down alternative on busy summer days to families looking for noncommercial, nonviolent and quality programming."

The WPT summer schedule begins on Monday, May 26 and is as follows:

• 6 a.m. Sesame Street

• 7 a.m. Berenstain Bears/Seven Little Monsters(Plaza Sesamo on Fridays)

• 7:30 a.m. Angelina Ballerina

• 8 a.m. Sesame Street

• 9 a.m. Between the Lions

• 9:30 a.m. Arthur

• 10 a.m. Clifford the Big Red Dog

• 10:30 a.m. Dragon Tales

• 11 a.m. Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat

• 11:30 a.m. Barney & Friends

• Noon Teletubbies

• 12:30 p.m. Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

• 1 p.m. Caillou

• 1:30 p.m. Big Comfy Couch

• 2 p.m. George Shrinks

• 2:30 p.m. Reading Rainbow

• 3 p.m. Zoboomafoo

• 3:30 p.m. Dragon Tales

• 4 p.m. Liberty's Kids
