Highlights of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Varsity

Band Spring Concert, one of the hottest tickets of the year on

campus, will be seen statewide at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 10, on

Wisconsin Public Television (WPT).

This special touches on the high points from From Vegas to

the Alamo, which was staged April 24-26 at the Kohl Center and

conducted by Director of Bands Mike Leckrone. The program will have

encore broadcasts at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, and 11:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 21.

Among the selections expected to be in the broadcast are

numbers from the musicals "Chicago" and "Joseph and the Amazing

Technicolor Dreamcoat," as well as "Slaughter on 10th Avenue," the

"Root Beer Rag" and favorites that have echoed through Camp Randall

Stadium for decades, including "You've Said It All" and "Varsity."

Also featured are steel pan virtuoso Liam Teague and UW

Band alumnus Grant Manhart on trumpet.
