The Pyle Center in Madison, Wisconsin, will host educators from around the state for the first nationally accessible, K-12 interactive videoconferencing conference and event on October 25 and 26.

In the critical election that will determine the winner of a six-year term in the U.S. Senate, WPT helps educate voters when it hosts a live candidate debate at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22. The debate will preempt the usual news program Here and Now.

- Wisconsin to host Great Lakes Dairy Sheep Symposium

The annual Great Lakes Dairy Sheep symposium, Nov. 4-6 in Hudson, will offer practical instruction on sheep dairy farming, lectures by university and industry scientists and progressive producers and sheep milk processors, as well as tours of sheep dairy farms and a farmstead sheep milk processing plant.

The University of Wisconsin-Extension's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will receive a $95,000 federal grant to strengthen the technological competitiveness of small businesses. The U.S. Small Business Administration made the award as part of the Federal and State Technology (FAST) program.

Regional workshops to help people who are interested in becoming farmers will be offered around the state over next several months. These workshops will provide information on strategies for getting started, pursuing a farm career, preserving the family farm, developing contacts and building networks.
