Strong community leadership the focus of statewide summit

MADISON, Wis.-If you are a community leader, a local government official, work in business or a state agency, are a leadership program alumni, community developer, or someone who would like to "make a difference," the second annual Wisconsin Community Leadership Summit is for you. This is an unprecedented opportunity to explore collaborative community leadership and a chance to be inspired by contemporary visionaries in community leadership. The summit agenda reflects the idea that now more than ever, Wisconsin needs strong communities guided by extraordinary leaders.

The two-day summit, April 19-20, at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids, features keynote addresses by the new University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension Dean, Dr. Arlen Leholm on "Energizing the Human Spirit Through High Performing Teams," and U.S. Army Trainer Heath Dickinson on "The Transcendent Leadership Paradigm."

Participants will choose from more than 30 workshops, including a new mobile workshop, where participants will visit a local success story. The conference will be capped with an interactive, full-summit workshop called "Building Camelot." Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their individual skills; share resources and information; build community development skills; create partnerships and integrated programming; and recognize outstanding community leadership.

UW-Extension has joined the Wisconsin Rural Leadership Program and Wisconsin Rural Partners to co-host the summit. Sixteen stellar conference sponsors and partners are geared up to provide a top-notch learning and networking experience.

Register by March 19 to pay the full conference fee of $135, which includes conference materials, breaks and meals. After March 19, the registration fee is $185.
