WAUSAU, Wis.—As we watch energy costs rise for everything from filling up our vehicles to paying our home utility bills, the need for conservation and efficient energy use is critical. While most individuals and families are not in the market for new more energy efficient appliances or new homes, making the effort to conserve and improve efficiency with what we currently have can be an immediate effective approach, according to Rita Straub, University of Wisconsin-Extension family living educator for Marathon County.

As part of a Madison ceremony commemorating Pearl Harbor, Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) today provided more than 100 hours of videotaped interviews with 65 Wisconsin World War II veterans, and 25 people who were active on the home front in various capacities, to the archives of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum and the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS).

MADISON — David Wilson, vice president for university outreach and associate provost at Auburn University in Alabama, has been recommended to serve as the first chancellor to lead both the statewide University of Wisconsin-Extension and the UW Colleges, which includes 13 freshman-sophomore campuses.
