Madison, WI - The winners of the 64th Annual Peabody Awards were announced today the University of Georgia`s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. "To The Best of Our Knowledge," produced by Wisconsin Public Radio, was singled by out by the board for achievement in radio.
"It's an honor that's been earned by an extraordinary staff," says program host Jim Fleming, "what a pleasure!"
A Public Radio International institution since 1992, To the Best of Our Knowledge is an expansive magazine of ideas using the arts and culture to examine contemporary political and social trends.
"Winning such a prestigious award is a testament to our body of work," said program creaters and producers Steve Paulson and Anne Strainchamps, "it's a recognition of all great people we've interviewed over the years, and that public radio still matters."
Selection of the winners is made by the Peabody Board following review by special committees of UGA faculty, students and staff. The Peabody Board is a 15-member group of television critics, broadcast and cable industry executives and experts in culture and the arts.
"To The Best of Our Knowledge" is distributed by PRI-Public Radio International to more than 120 public radio stations across the States and to Armed Forces Radio.
