MADISON, Wis.—Making healthy food choices is easier if you have the right tools. In this case, a powerful tool is free and easy to find, just when you need it. It’s the Nutrition Facts panel that can be found on the label of practically all packaged foods in the grocery store. As of January 1, 2006, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has made this tool even more powerful by requiring trans fat to be listed on products containing significant amounts of fat.
