Putting aside dueling polls, and the campaign tactics from both sides, Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) will air an hour-long in-depth and accurate presentation on the proposed amendment that would define marriage in Wisconsin’s constitution. The conflicting views on the ballot initiative that would define marriage as between a man and woman will be presented in a courtroom trial format, inviting Nov. 7th voters to act as the jury.

MADISON, Wis.—Throughout Wisconsin, volunteers work to monitor the health of local streams and rivers. The data collected helps citizens understand the impact of land use on water resources, contributes to scientific research, and can benefit local stewardship initiatives. October 18th is World Water Monitoring Day, established to build public awareness and involvement in protecting water resources around the world. The program engages communities in monitoring the condition of local rivers, streams, estuaries and other water bodies.

“One of the best ways to teach children the importance of physical activity is to involve the whole family,” says Ruth Schriefer, University of Wisconsin-Extension. “It can be as easy as taking a walk or riding bikes together and as simple as playing favorite games outdoors. Any time you replace habits like watching television with physical activity, you are teaching kids that it’s fun to be active and healthy.”
