Consider what life is like for immigrants in Dane County at the fall session of the Community Forums on Race and Diversity 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the Catholic Multicultural Center, 1862 Beld St. in Madison
The session will offer a free screening of the P.O.V. film, “Made in L.A.” followed by a facilitated discussion.
The film follows the journey of three Latina immigrants working in Los Angeles' garment factories and their struggle for self-empowerment as they wage a three-year battle to bring a major clothing retailer to the negotiating table. In many industries, immigrants toil long hours for sub-minimum wages, fighting for an opportunity in a new country.
