The Wisconsin Farmers Market Association and University of Wisconsin-Extension, Cooperative Extension will offer four Farmers Market Tours this summer. While designed to offer farmers market managers an opportunity to learn from other managers while at a particular market, anyone interested in the organization and management of a farmers market would be welcome to attend.

The market tours will be held at the following markets:

-- Historic Downtown Burlington Farmers Market: Thursday July 19, 3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

-- Downtown Appleton Farm Market: Saturday, Aug. 4, 9 a.m. – 11a.m.

-- Dane County Wednesday Market, Madison: Wednesday, August 22, 10a.m. – noon

-- Fondy Farmers Market, Milwaukee: Saturday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. – noon

Participants can elect to attend one market tour or visit as many as they wish, however, space will be limited to 15 people per tour. Market tours will include an overview of the market including the history and mission along with unique aspects of the market. A tour of the market will be included with discussion of vendor and product mix, activities and more. As part of the tour, a meal will be included, featuring local foods, where networking and questions can be addressed.

The cost for each tour is $15 or $12 for members of the Wisconsin Farmers Market Manager Association.
