Spring 1998 in Wisconsin


    Spring 1998 (March through May) was warmer and wetter than normal across most of the state, reflecting a continuation of the El Nino condtions which persisted through the winter of 1997-98.  Statewide, temperatures averaged 3.4 °F above normal.  The state received 116% of its normal precipitation, but southern Wisconsin was especially wet with 131-164% of normal.  North central and northeastern Wisconsin were slightly drier than normal for the season.
