The University of Wisconsin Milking Research and Instruction Laboratory (UWMRIL), founded in 1990, has become an internationally recognized center for research and education on machine milking. The lab is housed in the Biological Systems Engineering Department Laboratory at 540 Elm Drive on the UW-Madison campus.
