Julie Sinistore
Julie Sinistore began her education at Cook College of Rutgers University, where she studied natural resource management and sociology. After college, she held several jobs, but the most influential were as an organic farmer in Westchester, New York and as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer in the San Joaquin Valley of California. Julie recently completed a Masters of Science program in Agroecology at UW-Madison which culminated with her thesis titled, "Corn Ethanol Production in the Wisconsin Agricultural Context: Energy Efficiency, Greenhouse Gas Neutrality and Soil and Water Implications." Her investigation of Wisconsin ethanol potential continues today with her Ph.D. research in the Biological Systems Engineering department of UW-Madison, where she is exploring the life-cycle analysis of cellulosic ethanol production. Her academic and career goal is to illuminate the essential role that a healthy environment plays in all aspects of human life.
