Nigel Cook joined the Production Medicine section of the School of Veterinary Medicine, UW-Madison in 1999 after eight years of clinical work in both private practice in Southern England and at the Royal Veterinary College, London. Dr Cook is responsible for teaching dairy cow welfare, hoof lameness and milk quality to veterinary students and provides a milk quality troubleshooting service through the VMTH to farmers in Wisconsin. His research interests include analysis of dairy cow health and DHI records, hoof lameness and behavior. Nigel has been a cooperator on UWMRIL research projects and serves as an instructor in several of the UWMRIL courses.
