Mark O'Connell
Executive Director Wisconsin Counties Association (Madison)Mark O'Connell is the Executive Director for the Wisconsin Counties Association (WCA), an association of county governments assembled for the purpose of serving and representing counties.
Nearly every action taken by the executive and legislative branches of state government affects local government. The counties play a pivotal role in these actions, and the WCA assists counties to serve their constituents in the most effective manner possible. The direction of WCA is determined by the membership and the Board of Directors, and the organization's strength remains with county-elected officials.
Previously, O'Connell worked for the State of Wisconsin's Department of Administration, Department of Natural Resources and Legislative Audit Bureau.
He holds a bachelor's degree from UW-La Crosse and a master's degree from UW-Madison.
