Richard Stadelman

Executive Director Wisconsin Towns Association (Shawano)

Since 1987 Richard Stadelman has led the Wisconsin Towns Association (WTA), a voluntary organization of 1,260 of Wisconsin's town and 11 village governments serving 1.6 million residents in the state. The WTA's role is to lobby for the town and village interests at the state and federal levels and to keep its membership informed and knowledgeable about key issues. Previously Stadelman held positions as legislative representative and general legal counsel for the WTA (1979-87), law partner of Ashenbrenner, Woods, Lamia, Schmid & Stadelman (1978-87), and District Attorney for Shawano and Menominee counties (1973-78).

Stadelman has served on several legislative council special study committees including the Chapter 74 Tax Collection Revision Committee, Municipal Boundary Study Committee and Chapter 60 Town Law Revision Committee. He has worked with UW-Extension's Local Government Center in hosting public-policy workshops.

He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from UW-Whitewater and a law degree from UW-Madison.

Stadelman and his wife, Susan, have four children, and reside in Shawano.
