Who We Are:

As part of the UW-Extension the Division for Business and Entrepreneurship supports UW System institutions and Wisconsin communities with education and information services focused on business creation, growth and performance. The division has a collection of programs, organizations and initiatives designed to complement and support local and regional efforts to assist business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.

What We Do:

The Division for Business and Entrepreneurship serves businesses and entrepreneurs via the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center Network, Center for Technology Commercialization, Center for Business Intelligence (coming Spring 2015), Manufacturing Diversity Institute and the Food Finance Institute. We provide sophisticated tools and resources, no-cost consulting, entrepreneurship education, feasibility analysis, business research finance expertise and investment resources to develop, grow and manage local businesses. All of our services are provided in conjunction with other UW Institutions and community business support organizations.

Wisconsin Small Business Development Centers

The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) works with business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the state to facilitate business growth and improvement, and to launch successful new companies. Through no-cost consulting, low-cost entrepreneurial education and strategic facilitation, SBDC experts serve as resources for small and emerging mid-size companies. The Wisconsin SBDC is hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Extension and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Specialty centers include:

    Provides entrepreneurs access to resources of the Wisconsin SBDC Network.
