Who We Are:

The Division for Business & Entrepreneurship helps entrepreneurs, businesses and economic development professionals across the state to achieve their goals by offering technical assistance and leveraging data. Our consultants and tools empower individuals to reach the next level in their careers and businesses. We follow a collaborative model, working with local organizations/UW institutions and working together across all program areas to best serve clients.

What We Do:

We enhance the value of Wisconsin, one business at a time. We connect aspiring, new and established small businesses with consulting, training, data analysis, resources and services that improve performance and increase capabilities for success -- driving job growth, innovation and capital investment in our communities. Our program areas: Wisconsin Small Business Development Center Network, Center for Technology Commercialization, Food Finance Institute, Center for Business Intelligence and Business Dynamics Research Consortium.

Wisconsin Small Business Development Centers

The Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) works with business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the state to facilitate business growth and improvement, and to launch successful new companies. Through no-cost consulting, low-cost entrepreneurial education and strategic facilitation, SBDC experts serve as resources for small and emerging mid-size companies. The Wisconsin SBDC is hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Extension and is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration. Specialty centers include:

    Specializes in new product assessments and market research for business improvement and growth
  • Wisconsin Business AnswerLine: (800) 940-7232
    Provides entrepreneurs access to resources of the Wisconsin SBDC Network.
