Data Specialist & Data Governance Leader

The Specialist leads the design and use of central collection systems of institution-wide programming data. The core duties are to (1) design, iterate, and implement institutional reporting policies, (2) design, iterate, and implement institutional procedures for program-related data input, data use and data dissemination; (3) design, iterate, and implement institutional digital infrastructures and collection systems to this end. Additionally, the Specialist leads large-scale organizational evaluation and research efforts involving state-wide programming data, and provides evaluators, program leaders, and area leaders with support regarding the use of centrally collected programmatic data.

The Specialist serves as the leader of the institutional data governance efforts, which is responsible for strategic and tactical implementation of broader institutional policies. In this function, the Specialist is directly accountable to the Data Governance Steering committee, consisting of the Dean of Operations, the Associate Deans, and the Directors of the Program Support Services and Educational Technology units.  The Specialist assumes responsibility for institutionally relevant data and coordinates the overall system with other data owners at UW-Cooperative Extension. 

The Specialist works in close collaboration with the Educational Services unit in order to design and maintain data collection, data access, and data visualization platforms. The Specialist provides leadership the sub-unit for Institutional Data Use, which is housed in the Program Support Services Unit. In this function, the Specialist supervises colleagues and students within this sub-unit.

PEOPLESOFT DEVELOPER - Central Information Technology Services (CITS)

The PeopleSoft Developer is a key part of the Central IT Student Information System technical team. This position is responsible for PeopleSoft development, including integrations, upgrades, customizations, and reports.  The position will also contribute to planning, design, and technical recommendations.  The individual in this role should be capable of working under general oversight, and will promote best practices through comprehensive documentation and change management controls.  The ability to handle several projects concurrently (both independently and collaboratively) and meet deadlines is required. 


  • Two or more years demonstrated proficiency developing for Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
  • Exposure to Fluid development and PeopleSoft 9.2 environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


  • Experience building and debugging application customizations using PeopleSoft specific tools, languages and environments.
  • Experience with Fluid development in a 9.2 Campus Solutions environment

Fond du Lac & Washington Counties Positive Youth Development Extension Educator

Area Extension Director-Area 10

This 100% FTE position will serve as the administrative leader across Calumet, Outagamie, Waupaca and Winnebago Counties which comprise Area 10.

The Area Extension Director will require great cultural competency to work with diverse staff and clientele and have the political savvy required to work with rural and suburban counties and multiple municipalities within the
county to identify and assess new opportunities in programming, funding, and staffing.

The Area Extension Director provides leadership, direction, and support for Cooperative Extension educational programming by building high performing office teams of Extension educators and county support staff, and fosters an environment that is inclusive, trusting, respectful, and collegial.  The Area Extension Director is responsible for managing the resources for Cooperative Extension by overseeing the Cooperative Extension county budgets and budget allocations.

Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the Area Extension Director will work with county governments, tribal nations, municipalities, and partner organizations to ensure that the educational needs of local communities are met.

Bedrock Geologist

The Bedrock Geologist conducts research as the basis for improving the understanding of the geology of Wisconsin. The Bedrock Geologist will conduct geologic mapping as a primary method of data collection to addresses research questions relevant to Wisconsin. The Bedrock Geologist will participate in the Survey’s ongoing bedrock mapping program, which includes field mapping and outcrop study, organization and interpretation of subsurface geologic and geophysical logs, description of rock core and cuttings, development of isopach and depth-to-bedrock maps, and construction and interpretation of three-dimensional geologic data sets.

Geoscience Program Coordinator

Guided by our strategic goals of supporting and enhancing internal communication and facilitating the use of geoscience information by our stakeholders, the Geoscience Program Coordinator is a new position designed to coordinate geoscience publications and projects at WGNHS in support of the Survey’s strategic plan. This position serves as a member of the management team, supervises editorial staff and contracts, and reports to the Director. The position will also have opportunities to conduct geoscience research as needed by the Survey.

The initial priority of this position will be review and potential realignment of the Survey’s publication and peer review systems to improve efficiency and timeliness of the publication process and help reduce a backlog of maps and other publications in progress. A second priority will be project coordination and promotion, including needs assessment, investigation of local, state, and national funding opportunities, and facilitation of communication between and among Survey staff, partners, and stakeholders.

This is a two year fixed- term appointment scheduled to end on or before June 30th, 2021 (depending on employee start date), with a possibility of renewal
