Project Hydrogeologist

WISCONSIN GEOLOGICAL & NATURAL HISTORY SURVEY (WGNHS)

Position Purpose
The position is intended to assist with on-going projects directed by WGNHS Hydrogeologist Madeline Gotkowitz. This position will primarily assist the nitrate initiative project funded by the Department of Natural Resources. This position may also assist with ongoing hydrogeology projects led by other WGNHS.  This position will have an FTE of 60%-100%.

Primary Duties/Essential Job Functions

  • Work independently and in teams to assist in the development, calibration, and application of groundwater flow models using standard groundwater modeling packages
  • Maintain project databases, document model development, prepare reports
  • Conduct field work, such as maintaining instrumentation and groundwater sampling programs, at WGNHS research sites
  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships in support of cooperative and respectful work environments
  • Make all reasonable effort to reach a diverse audience and to ensure equitable access to programs and facilities as applicable to position

 

Marketing & Communications Outreach Specialist

As an academic staff member of University of Wisconsin-Extension, the Marketing & Communications Outreach Specialist identifies, develops, and evaluates marketing opportunities, leading the planning, development and maintenance of promotional materials to reach conservation audiences and increase participation in educational programs that address natural resource management. Responsibilities also include profiling and pinpointing target audiences for programs and marketing materials, direct outreach to target organizations and members, tracking and calculating promotion response rates, and other duties as assigned.  A strong understanding of underlying marketing strategy should guide all efforts, along with the ability to clearly defined success metrics. This position does not require previous experience/knowledge of agricultural conservation programs, though knowledge of natural resource-related disciplines is a plus.

The Waukesha County FoodWIse Program is a major effort within Cooperative Extension’s Family Living Programs. The aim of Family Living Programs is to enhance the quality of family and community decisions that affect the family and to increase the families’ abilities to adapt to and effect change. Within this broader aim, the purpose of this position is to work closely with the County FoodWIse Coordinator and the nutrition educators to plan and conduct high quality learner-centered nutrition education for low-income residents (especially people who are eligible to receive SNAP/food stamps or FoodShare).

Digital & Broadcast Journalist

WPT is searching for a Digital & Broadcast Journalist to produce and contribute to WPT's online and broadcast news content, and to collaborate with other digital and broadcast news staff to create original content. Operational Data Specialist

UW-Extension is seeking an Operational Data Specialist to provide direct support and management of data collection and reporting applications for the Division for Business and Entrepreneurship (DBE).  This position coordinates with subject matter experts, program and technology staff, and others as needed to leverage applications to meet the specific operational and program management goal(s) of the division staff.

Candidate must have a bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience.  Demonstrated proficiency in client-based application management, implementation, and maintenance is also required.
